Video Surveillance and Analysis

As part of the center, the focus will be on developing algorithms to analyze surveillance videos and images to draw inferences about a scene or situation. This will make use of video (including regular video, Infrared (IR), audio) streams from one or multiple cameras to carry out analysis that helps in surveillance. This includes visual tracking of objects or personnel under poor lighting conditions, detecting unusual (or abnormal) activity by personnel, or social behavior changes (e.g., showing disagreement or dissent, postures, group formation).
