By Dr. R. Muralidharan, CTO, TATA Advanced Systems

The 15th Webinar of NCETIS was held on 7th December 2021. Dr. R. Muralidharan, CTO, TATA Advanced Systems gave a talk on “Engineering Strategic Systems for Atmanirbharta”. The event was held on the Webex virtual platform. A brief abstract and a short Biography of Dr. Muralidharan is given below:

Abstract:

For the defence and security of our country, trust-worthy strategic systems are a must. We have been dependent on import of close to 70% of the weapon systems required for our defence forces and there have been efforts to indigenize the strategic systems for last many years for obvious reasons such as trustworthiness, latest in technology, secrecy, cost effectiveness and employment. Other benefits are dual use of developed technology and a mature eco-system of engineering and technology. Many developed nations economy is based on export of weapon systems. A gist of the Strategic systems developed in the private defence sector will be discussed with challenges and opportunities in the pipeline.
